Lana Del Rey - Honeymoon Review
Lana Del Rey has perfected her vocal chords in the latest addition, Honeymoon. She is a siren, seducing any mortal into her possessed, yet heavenly chords. This album is especially sickly-sweet, using a lot of orchestral bites. Honeymoon is quite frankly the love-child of Ultraviolence and Born To Die - the perfect mix of gloomy and flirty.
Track No. 1
Honeymoon
"We both know it's not fashionable to love me," Lana muses, opening the ballad. This first line, if not the cinematic feel, has me captivated in the first 30 seconds. I think my favorite part of this whole song is when she mellifluously sings the words "Dark Blue". Overall, this song is a truly stainless single for this album.
Track No. 2
Music To Watch Boys To
Of all the songs on the album, this is not one of my favorites. It has a inviting jazz feeling, however this particular piece has yet to pull me in. The lyrics are rewarding, and well-written. This may not be at the top of my list, however there is no denying Lana has a certain prowess.
Track No. 3
Terrence Loves You
Pulpy and dreamy, this tune is the jazziest of the album. My favorite part is the chord and lyric strife at "Ground control to Major Tom..." Not one of the gems of the album, but the use of saxophone with the jazzy tune presents an unforgettable experience.
Track No. 4
God Knows I Tried
In my opinion, this is one of the more upbeat pieces of Honeymoon. The chorus is obsessive. The contrast between dark/light is lucid. The heavenly lyrical creation radiates light, while the gloomy tune is seeping darkness and sorrow. An pleasing addition to the collection.
Track No. 5
High By The Beach
High by the beach, is the perfect title to this euphoric medley. This song numbs the senses the way the words blend with the music effortlessly. This is also an upbeat hit in the album, which we didn't get to see much of in Ultraviolence.
Track No. 6
Freak
This is the Lana we got to see in Born to Die. Sexy, edgy, and flirtatious. "Be a freak like me, too, Screw your anonymity, Loving me is all you need to feel". The album only goes uphill from here.

Track No. 7
Art Deco
I don't have a elaborate description/review for Art Deco. It sounds really similar to her other songs. Fabulously average.
Track No. 8
Burnt Norton - Interlude
Not a song - an interlude. Want to know what it sounds like? Call the number on the Honeymoon car.

Track No. 9
Religion
I feel like this song really parallels Hozier's song, Take Me to Church, using spirituality to represent love. This song comes with some percussion, giving it a lethargic beat. This love song is catchy, but as many songs on Honeymoon, very similar to other songs on previous albums.
Track No. 10
Salvatore
My favorite song on the album, not because it is named after my favorite brothers, but because it is classy and bewitching. It definitely has an Italian feeling. She decides to pair words such as, "cacciatore", "limousine", "ciao amore", "salvatore", and "soft ice cream". Strange? Yes, in the most angelic way.
Track No. 11
The Blackest Day
This song remind me of an infusion of Dark Paradise and Black Beauty. " Give me all, got my blue nail polish on, It's my favorite color and my favorite tone of song," sounds similar to Black Beauty, while, "Ever since my baby went away, It's been the blackest day, it's been the blackest day," sounds like lyric similar to the lyrics in Dark Paradise. Sinful and soulful, this bona fide song will be a classic.
Track No. 12
24
This song gives off a James Bond vibe. "There's only 24 hours, And that's not enough, To lie like you lie or, Love like you love," in this section, Lana's voice produces harmonious chords, in a sweetly vicious way. Could Lana be the next Bond singer?
Track No. 13
Swan Song
Cinematic and chilling. Lana is able to drive a spectrum of emotions in this song. It doesn't stand out against the other songs on this album, but it is still a masterpiece.
Track No. 14
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
A Nina Simone cover, Lana turns this charming classic into a burning lugubrious melody. These lyrics preach about being ethological and having moral intentions. This is the perfect closing song for the album, it polishes of Honeymoon leaving us satisfied, and also longing for more.
Overall rating of Honeymoon: 8.5/10
